About Us
New Zealand rests on a bed of fire. Beneath the quiet suburbs and polite politics lies a society seething with class antagonism. Crushing debt, runaway rents, corporate greed and a government that serves private capital over common people is pushing society to a breaking point. What we are witnessing throughout New Zealand, alongside the greater South Pacific, is not decline - but the prelude to rupture. The land is trembling, tectonic upheaval awaits. Vulcan is our response.
Our Mission
Our primary objective is to develop and spread class consciousness among the New Zealand working class. This is to lay the organisational foundation for a renewed communist party in New Zealand - the Zealandian Communist Party.
New Zealand has never had a sustained, mass-oriented communist party. The Communist Party of New Zealand was plagued by ideological confusion and petty opportunism; leaving no living legacy capable of challenging capital. In its absence, the New Zealand left has become fragmented, liberal and politically impotent - relegated to fringe activism or theatrical parliamentary irrelevance.
We reject the false dichotomy between Labourite dictatorship and National austerity. Instead, we promote an explicitly Marxist-Leninist line grounded in New Zealand’s material conditions - one that is patriotic, anti-imperialist and oriented toward rediscovering popular sovereignty and civilisational existence in the face of the seismic geopolitical challenges that lay ahead.
